Christine Dornaus, member of the Management Board of Wiener Städtische Versicherung, will join the management of the Federal Real Estate Company effective October 1, 2024. Together with Gerald Beck, she will be the first woman to lead Austria's largest real estate company, following the departure of Hans-Peter Weiss and the retirement of Wolfgang Gleissner.
Christine Dornaus was selected based on a public tender and was conducted in collaboration with the HR consultant Korn Ferry. A three-person selection committee consisting of experts from the BIG Supervisory Board, the Ministry of Finance, and ÖBAG was entrusted with the search for the Managing Director. The BIG Supervisory Board was informed of the results of the selection process.
Christine Dornaus has held various management positions within the Wiener Städtische Versicherung Group since 2002. For 15 years, she served on the Management Board, responsible for the investment of all capital investments, including the insurance company's real estate assets, and their management. She was also significantly involved in the design and implementation of Vienna's Seestadt and Nordbahnhof urban development areas. For Christine Catasta, Chair of the BIG Supervisory Board, "her many years of experience in the real estate sector and, as a manager, her excellent network in the industry and the public sector were decisive factors in Christine Dornaus emerging as the clear winner in the selection process."
