Second Annual General Meeting of the Austrian Holding AG
Austrian Holding AG (ÖBAG) held its second Annual General Meeting on November 4, 2020. ÖBAG's 2019 annual results were significantly impacted by the integration of the Federal Real Estate Company (BIG) into ÖBAG, which increased dividend income for the 2019 financial year from €277,9 million to €499,7 million (figures excluding Verbund AG). Accordingly, ÖBAG's net profit for 2019 rose considerably from €261,1 million to €492,1 million, and total assets increased from €2.207,1 million to €3.513,4 million (figures excluding Verbund AG).
The general meeting followed the proposal of ÖBAG board member Thomas Schmid and decided to distribute a dividend of 480 million euros to the Federal Ministry of Finance (previous year: 370 million euros).
ÖBAG Supervisory Board Chairman Helmut Kern: “With the presented annual financial statements, ÖBAG, under CEO Thomas Schmid, impressively demonstrates that it fully fulfills its legal mandate and makes an important contribution to the Austrian federal budget, even in a challenging environment.”
ÖBAG board member Thomas Schmid: “ÖBAG’s portfolio companies performed very well in 2019 and have weathered the crisis well overall so far. This allows ÖBAG to continue its sustainable dividend policy in the interests of Austrian taxpayers.”
