At today's Annual General Meeting of Österreichische Beteiligungs AG (ÖBAG), the Management Board's dividend proposal for 2022 was approved. On June 20, EUR 925 million will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, as the 100% owner of ÖBAG. Together with the EUR 638 million distributed by Verbund, the Republic will receive a total of EUR 1,56 billion from the companies managed by ÖBAG. This total includes special dividends of EUR 486 million.

This represents a doubling of the dividend payout in 2021, for which EUR 766 million was paid out. The total portfolio value of the companies under the ÖBAG umbrella amounted to EUR 30,8 billion at the end of 2022.

"Last year was marked by various, partly overlapping crises and challenges for companies. The significant increase in the dividend not only reflects the companies' strong economic development and strategic positioning, but also contributes to financing the numerous public tasks of the Republic," said ÖBAG CEO Edith Hlawati. The special dividends, due to the exceptional circumstances on the energy markets, also allowed for targeted measures that benefit the population, Hlawati continued.
