Stefan Fürnsinn new Executive Director

Since the beginning of November, Stefan Fürnsinn has formed the "Extended Executive Board" of ÖBAG together with Robert Stajic and Edith Hlawati. "I am delighted to have gained Stefan Fürnsinn, a digitalization expert who also brings many years of international management experience. The current crises in particular demonstrate how important it is to support companies with specialist expertise through the current transformation processes," explained Edith Hlawati.

Digitalization expertise and international management experience

Stefan Fürnsinn serves as Executive Director of ÖBAG. He has over 15 years of strategic and operational management experience as a business unit manager and CEO in industry, as a partner at the management consultancy McKinsey & Company, and as a board member at companies including IBM. His work has been extensively international, spanning Europe, North and South America, Asia, and Africa. His focus has been on digitalization and technology, growth and business development, and operational business transformation. Stefan Fürnsinn studied Technical Chemistry and International Business Administration in Vienna and earned his doctorate from TU Wien and Aston University in Birmingham.

To further enhance the quality of decisions within ÖBAG, CEO Edith Hlawati established a management structure with an expanded board. This "Extended Board" consists of three members and operates according to the six-eyes principle. Portfolio-wide decisions requiring approval from the ÖBAG Supervisory Board must be unanimous. The "Extended Board" is a self-imposed obligation of the sole CEO, Edith Hlawati.

Stefan Fürnsinn succeeds Carola Wahl, who left the company on October 31, 2022.
