Additional investments
ÖBAG manages three other holding companies: GKB Bergbau, IMIB and SCHOELLER-BLECKMANN Gesellschaft m.b.H.
GKB-Bergbau GmbH
GKB-Bergbau GmbH is tasked with exiting the Austrian mining sector in an orderly fashion. In addition, it administers the remaining rights and obligations of former Österreichische Bergbauholding (Austrian mining holding). GKB also carries out statutory security and closing measures, including re-cultivation.

Immobilien und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH
In 1987, Immobilien und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (IMIB) was spun-off from VOEST-ALPINE AG as a separate steel and technology unit. IMIB holds 13% of the shares in VAMED AG and administers residual claims and obligations resulting from its former activity.

SCHOELLER-BLECKMANN Gesellschaft m.b.H.
Until 1995, SCHOELLER-BLECKMANN Gesellschaft m.b.H. was the parent company of several state-owned companies specialized in high-quality stainless steel production. Since the privatization of these companies, Schoeller-Bleckmann acts as administrator of the former factory premises.
