Stefan Fürnsinn – New Executive Director
Since the beginning of November, Stefan Fürnsinn has been a member of the “extended management board” of ÖBAG together with Robert Stajic and Edith Hlawati. “I am very pleased to have won over Stefan Fürnsinn, a digitization expert with many years of international management experience, to join the management board. The currently prevailing crises show how important specialist knowledge is for the current transformation processes,” explained Edith Hlawati.
Digitization expertise and international management experience
Stefan Fürnsinn is a member of the management board of ÖBAG. He has more than 15 years of strategic and operational management experience as a business unit manager and CEO at industrial enterprises, as a partner at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, and on management boards such as at IBM. His has gained international experience at companies in Europe, North America and South America as well as in Asia and Africa. The focus of his work has been on digitization and technology, growth, business development and operational company transformation. Stefan Fürnsinn studied technical chemistry and international business administration in Vienna, and completed his doctorate studies at the Technical University of Vienna and at Aston University in Birmingham.
CEO Edith Hlawati enlarged the management structure at ÖBAG and established an “extended management board” to increase the quality of decision-making within organisation. This “extended management board” consists of three persons and works in accordance with the principle that three persons are required for approvals. Decisions that affect the entire portfolio and that must be approved by the Supervisory Board of ÖBAG have to be reached unanimously. The “extended management board” is a voluntary commitment on the part of Edith Hlawati who is the sole statutory management board member.
Stefan Fürnsinn replaces Carola Wahl who left the company as of 31 October 2022.
