ÖBAG: Christine Dornaus appointed to Management Board of BIG
Christine Dornaus, Management Board member of Wiener Städtische Versicherung, will be joining the Management Board of Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft as of 1 October 2024. She will be the first woman to become a member of the top management of Austria’s largest real estate company and will run it jointly with Gerald Beck following the resignation of Hans-Peter Weiss and the retirement of Wolfgang Gleissner.
Christine Dornaus was selected for the position after a public tender was held which was organized together with the consulting firm “Korn Ferry”. The search was conducted by a three-member selection committee set up with experts from the BIG Supervisory Board, the Ministry of Finance and ÖBAG. The Supervisory Board of BIG was informed of the outcome of the selection process.
Christine Dornaus has held various management positions at the Wiener Städtische Insurance Group since 2002 and has been a member of the Management Board for 15 years. She is responsible for the investment of all capital assets, including the insurance company’s real estate assets and their management. She was very active in the development and implementation of the City of Vienna’s new residential districts, Seestadt and Nordbahnhof. For Christine Catasta, Chairwoman of the BIG Supervisory Board, “her many years of experience in the real estate sector and, as a manager, her excellent network of contacts in the industry and also in the public sector were the decisive factors for selecting Christine Dornaus as the winner”.
