ÖBAG manages two other holding companies: GKB Bergbau and Immobilien und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (IMIB).
GKB-Bergbau GmbH
GKB-Bergbau GmbH is tasked with exiting the Austrian mining sector in an orderly fashion. In addition, it administers the remaining rights and obligations of former Österreichische Bergbauholding (Austrian mining holding). GKB also carries out statutory security and closing measures, including re-cultivation. SCHOELLER-BLECKMANN Gesellschaft m.b.H. was merged with GKB with effect from July 9, 2024.
Immobilien und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH
In 1987, Immobilien und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (IMIB) was spun-off from VOEST-ALPINE AG as a separate steel and technology unit. IMIB holds 13% of the shares in VAMED AG and administers residual claims and obligations resulting from its former activity.
